Refund Policy
Effective date: September 7, 2026
This page is public — you do not need an account to read it. It explains exactly what you can buy in Sale Scout, who charges you, and how to get your money back.
What Sale Scout sells
Sale Scout has no subscriptions, no free trials and no auto-renewing plans. Browsing sales, posting a sale, saving sales, messaging, reviews and alerts are free. There are exactly two paid items, and both are one-time purchases:
- Route Pass — $3.00 (or 5 passes for $12.00). One pass unlocks one optimized multi-stop route. Passes do not expire and are used only when you generate a route.
- Featured Listing — $4.99 per day, 1–7 days. Your sale is promoted in search results and on the map for the days you pick, starting immediately.
Nothing you buy renews. You will never be charged again unless you deliberately make another purchase.
Who charged you — this decides who refunds you
Find the charge on your card or receipt. The name on it tells you which of the three cases below applies.
1. Bought on the Sale Scout website (Stripe)
If you paid on salescout.live, HolmesLabs LLC took the payment through Stripe and we can refund you directly. Your receipt comes from Stripe and the charge shows up as Sale Scout or HolmesLabs.
Route Passes: full refund for any unused pass, no questions asked, within 30 days of purchase. A pass you already spent on a generated route is not normally refundable — but if the route failed or the directions were unusable, write to us and we will make it right.
Featured Listings: full refund if the promotion never ran or something on our side broke it. If it has been running, we refund the days that have not been used yet. If you cancel or delete your sale part-way through, contact us and we will refund the remaining days.
How to ask: email holmeslabsllc@gmail.com with the email address on your account and roughly when you paid, or use Send feedback and pick Billing. We reply within 3 business days. Approved refunds go back to your original payment method and normally land in 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.
When a refund is issued, the matching Route Pass or Featured Listing is switched off automatically — a refunded pass can no longer be used, and a refunded boost stops promoting the sale.
2. Bought through the Apple App Store
If Apple took the payment, the charge appears on your Apple receipt as APPLE.COM/BILL. Sale Scout cannot issue, approve or speed up an Apple refund — Apple controls that transaction and makes the decision. Anyone who tells you otherwise is wrong.
Ask Apple directly:
- Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple Account.
- Choose “Request a refund”, pick a reason, then pick the Sale Scout purchase.
- Submit. Apple emails you its decision, usually within 24–48 hours.
- You can also open the App Store app, tap your photo, tap Purchase History and report the item there.
We are still happy to help: email us and we will send you whatever purchase details we have on our side so you can attach them to your request to Apple.
3. Bought through Google Play
If Google took the payment, the charge appears as GOOGLE*SALE SCOUT. Google controls that transaction, and Google decides the refund. Purchases made in the first 48 hours can usually be refunded automatically by Google.
- Go to play.google.com/store/account/orderhistory, find the Sale Scout order and choose “Request a refund” or “Report a problem”.
- Or open the Google Play app, tap your photo, then Payments & subscriptions → Budget & history.
- After 48 hours, Google may pass the request to us. If it reaches us, we apply the same rules as website purchases above and answer within 3 business days.
Statutory rights
Nothing here removes rights you have under your local consumer law — including the EU/UK right to withdraw from a digital purchase within 14 days where it applies. If your law gives you more than this policy, your law wins.
Chargebacks and disputes
Please write to us before disputing a charge with your bank — a refund is nearly always faster. If a dispute is opened, the related pass or boost is suspended until it is resolved, and repeated fraudulent disputes can close an account.
