Cookie Policy

Effective date: September 7, 2026

Sale Scout uses almost no cookies. We run no advertising cookies, no third-party analytics tags, no pixels, no fingerprinting, and no cross-site or cross-app tracking. What we do store is a short list of items your browser or the app keeps on your own device to remember your session and your preferences.

What "cookies" means here

Most of what we store is not a cookie in the classic sense — it is local storage, a small store inside your own browser or app that never travels with requests to other websites. The law treats both the same way, so both are listed below.

Everything we store on your device

  • sb-*-auth-token
Keeps you signed in and refreshes your session. Set only after you sign in; removed when you sign out.
Local storage (Lovable Cloud / Supabase auth) · Lasts: Until sign-out · Strictly necessary / functional
  • salescout:last-center
The last map centre you looked at, so the map opens where you left off instead of asking for location again.
Local storage · Lasts: Until you clear it · Strictly necessary / functional
  • salescout:recent-searches
Your recent city/ZIP searches, shown as shortcuts in the location selector.
Local storage · Lasts: Until you clear it · Strictly necessary / functional
  • salescout:recent-areas
Recently used scout areas so you can switch back with one tap.
Local storage · Lasts: Until you clear it · Strictly necessary / functional
  • directions-launcher:preferred-app
Remembers whether you prefer Apple Maps, Google Maps or Waze for directions.
Local storage · Lasts: Until you clear it · Strictly necessary / functional
  • salescout.review.state.v1
Counts meaningful actions on this device so the app knows when it may show the Apple/Google rating sheet — and, more importantly, when not to.
Local storage (app only) · Lasts: Until you clear it · Strictly necessary / functional
  • salescout:consent.embeds.v1
Remembers your answer to the blog-embed consent prompt, where that prompt applies.
Local storage · Lasts: Until you clear it · Strictly necessary / functional
  • app.trysoro.com (blog embed)
Renders the blog articles at the bottom of the home page. This is the only third party that can set its own storage in Sale Scout.
Third-party script and any storage it sets · Lasts: Set by that provider · Non-essential

Why there is no cookie banner for most people

Consent is required for storage that is not needed to provide the service you asked for — typically advertising and analytics. Sale Scout has none of that, so a pop-up asking you to accept tracking would be misleading. Everything in the table above except the blog embed is strictly necessary or a preference you set yourself, and none of it is shared with anyone.

The one exception is the blog embed on the home page, which is loaded from a third party (app.trysoro.com) and could set its own storage. Visitors in the EU, the UK and Switzerland are asked before it loads, and it stays off until you agree. Everywhere else it loads as ordinary page content. You can change your answer at any time below.

Server logs

Our hosting and database providers keep short-lived technical logs (IP address, timestamp, request path) to run the service, detect abuse and debug faults. These are not used to build a profile of you or to advertise.

Clearing what we stored

Clearing your browser's site data for salescout.live, or deleting and reinstalling the app, removes every item above. Signing out removes your session immediately. Doing so does not delete your account — for that, see delete your account.

Changes

If we ever add a technology that tracks you, we will update this page, change the effective date, and ask for consent first. Related reading: Privacy Policy and Data Safety.
